I have gone through many changes before finding my current job and way of life. But each change was not driven by foresight, but rather by the desire to escape.
One advantage I have is that I am very good at escaping. Whenever something makes me sad or disappointed, I instinctively escape in physical and spatial terms, so that the sadness cannot catch up with me.
I used to think that this was like a rabbit chasing its own tail out of anxiety, until one day I heard the author of the theory of evolution say: "Always act in a way that increases choices."
Being a digital nomad is not a lifestyle, it is a survival strategy. Besides financial freedom, there is also a kind of geographical freedom, in the physical sense, which is even closer to the true meaning of "freedom". Achieving geographical freedom leaves an exit to escape in life at any time. Humans are products of their environment, so when I am unhappy, I run away to adjust to a short-term local optimal solution.
Evolution itself lacks foresight, which is why we humans have managed to survive until today no matter what.
